Wonderful Thaipusam

Date: 7 Feb to 8 Feb
Aim: To determine the culture and customs of Indians in celebrating Thaipusam.

Hypothesis: Selling food in Thaipusam is a great thing to do!

Participants: Me, T.X.R, Shawn, Nian Yi, Wen Hui, Chook Teng, Niroshaa, Paalini, Thillaga,
Tanya, Aish, Molly, Suria

Procedure:

ok... Neglecting the fact of sleeping hours and availability of washroom, the whole Thaipusam plan was GREAT. There's a lot of thing which we could see of, for instance, Batu Caves.

According to Thillaga, we are needed to walk up for 272 steps in order to see beyond its appearance. What can I say??? It's spacious and windy. I have no idea when we dealt with the wind. I wonder. Maybe the whole atmosphere is supported by the fans. Hehe.....

Once we reached there. we were just like the contestants from Amazing Race - Finding our next pitstop, booth that was located in front of plaza UMNO... At last, we found it!!!! Here came the great cooking show....

Chopping.....

Peeling.....

Packing....

and all sorts of verb that is associating with kitchen.

Some of them did cry when they're peeling the onions. hehe.. not for me coz I'm cutting the tomatoes....... Initially, I thought that we're supposed to sell those food.... apparently, i was wrong. The aim of Thaipusam is giving free food to all the people who came to the stall. it was ridiculous, right??

I was shocked when I saw the whole massive crowd in front of the booth..... We're asked to pack the cooked food and hand it over to them....The whole process was just like the game of Diner Dash... except that the 'customers" will not go off without food..

Did i say that all the food is in vegetarian form? Well, it's mainly on mee hun and idli.

Thousands of polystrene were being used in this ocassion..... A lot......

As for me, i think this community service was great except that it was quite tiring. But, i enjoyed the food-giving process.... I can still remember some words like wango... Ok, i dod forget some especially the delicious word... Sukate..... Erm... darn!!!!!!

Plus, the fireworks were nice. Same as the cotton candy too. Thanks, paalini!! Learning the whole idea of Thaipsusam. It's great!!!!!!

So, i finished my community hours service!!!! Hooray!!! Applause!!! (syok sendiri)

Conclusion: Although my hypothesis is invalid for this case,we still enjoyed it very much!!! Yes, we did!!!!!!!
